The Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival (aka #BrookCherryFest) takes place this weekend! A very pet-friendly event, it promises to be a great time for families and people of all ages. From concerts to car shows, this Atlanta event is one of the best in the area. While Buckhead Pet Pals is not participating, per se, we highly recommend you consider attending, both to support the cause and to enjoy the festivities. Brookhaven is located just over the northern edge of Atlanta and tucked inside the Perimeter, about 10 minutes south of 285 via 400 or 141. The Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival History
According to the Brookhaven website, the first Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival was in 2015. It attracted a crowd of a few thousand people that year. In the years since it’s inauguration, the participating music acts have grown, and the crowd has as well – to more than 40,000 attendees, putting Brookhaven’s hometown music-and-arts fest among Metro Atlanta’s largest.

Other Festival Events
In addition to its exceptional music line-up, the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival boasts an array of local vendors and tasty food truck treats. There is also a 5k and a car show – because why not?!
The 5K race is a fundraiser for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and an Atlanta Journal Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifier. It takes place at 8 am on Saturday March 22, 2025 in Brookhaven’s Blackburn Park. Meanwhile, the Classic Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the main entrance of Blackburn Park across from McDonald’s.
Pet-Friendly Considerations
Pet-friendly events can be fun for the whole family but it’s important to remember our manners. The Brookhaven Cherry Blossom website has the following reminders for guests attending with pets:
“If a guest is intimidated by the presence of an animal, no matter how well-behaved the pet is, we ask that you be considerate of others’ concerns. Safety is our highest priority. Festival officials reserve the right to refuse entry to a pet for health or safety reasons. Service dogs are always welcome on the shuttles; some shuttles may allow pets. Pets are NOT ALLOWED in the Sunday Pet World performances.”
We also want to remind you to be considerate of other pets and keep your distance from people and animals that show any nervousness or reluctance around your pet. No matter how friendly your dog is, there are dogs that may not be interested in meeting him or her up close. To be on the safe side, keep an eye out and keep your distance if you see any hesitation from your pet or another.
