The Barks and Bites: BeltLine Doggie Crawl from BiteLines Atlanta Food Tours has been getting a lot of attention this spring. And, while my dogs have never been into socializing with dogs outside our family, I’ve always been intrigued by what seems like a great way to mingle and meet other dog lovers in Metro Atlanta. Of course, the part about bringing your dog along is the main attraction, but I dare say, maybe it’s the perfect alternative to dating apps and social-media-only friendships. The Barks and Bites Beltline Doggie Crawl is a restaurant crawl designed to pamper your pup and give them the special day they deserve while you and your new friends take in all the surprises that the Atlanta Beltline has to offer.

We’ve all heard of bar crawls and maybe even food crawls where you hop from one bar or restaurant to another to try a drink and/or dish while exploring a trendy metropolitan area. Well, a doggie crawl is no different. It allows you to treat your furry foodie to gourmet meals crafted just for them by dog-friendly Atlanta restaurants. But, the dogs aren’t the only ones being fed, for the humans, you can expect two small bites at each stop, with drinks available for purchase.

But the fun doesn’t stop at the delicious eats for the whole family! The Beltline Doggie Crawl includes stops at local pet boutiques like Woofgang Bakery and The Clean Dog, where your furry friend can pick out their favorite toys and treats. Plus, you’ll both go home with exciting swag bags filled with goodies from top brands.

Oh, and did we mention dogs can enjoy a refreshing “Barkarita” made from Brutus Bone Broth. I mean, talk about a win/win for everyone!

Like I said above, the Doggie Crawl is a fantastic opportunity to make friends with other dog lovers and their pups. Atlanta is a big city and it’s not always easy to make friends as adults. Participating in an event like a doggie crawl gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded, or at least dog-minded, people. And, if you enjoy it, you can participate time and again, making it a social routine that gets you and your dog out of the house.

If you have a puppy, socialization on leash is an ideal way to safely introduce your pup to other dogs. Just make sure you clear this event with your veterinarian to prevent exposure to communicable diseases if your pup is too young to be fully vaccinated. Your vet may recommend a stroller for smaller dogs or delicate older pups, but, from my understanding, you can still participate if your dog is in a backpack or stroller. And, for older dogs, socialization is a skill they need to practice so grab their leash and get them moving and mingling with a pack of what I imagine are really fun dog parents.

You can purchase your tickets here. Each person who attends must have a ticket. If you are bringing a dog, you need to choose an “Adult with Dog” ticket for $69. There is also a “Companion ticket” available for $39 for friends or relatives who want to join, but there is a limit of one Companion ticket for each Adult with Dog ticket. You can also bring additional dogs for an extra $39 per additional dog, up to two. Don’t forget, the event gives you a lot for your money including treats and toys for your pup to keep!

To keep the event really dog-focused, attendees must either bring a dog, or come with someone with a dog. And, everyone must be 17 and older; leave the kids at home – or call ahead to see if they make exceptions on certain days.

One of my favorite parts of this event is that it’s a fundraiser! A portion of your ticket supports local Atlanta animal rescue organizations, helping pets find their forever homes. In 2025, the supported organizations are the Atlanta Humane Society and Furkids.
